- Paris boasts of its status of being the best in terms of beauty. It is also regarded as a very romantic place. The city brims with historic associations as it continues to excel in culture, art, fashion and design.
- Paris is among the top travel destinations. One of its landmarks, the Eiffel Tower, belongs to the most visited spots of tourists from all over the world.

- Life in Paris is similar in many ways with New York than with a European city. It is often described as hurried and businesslike.
- People in the city have a reputation of being rude or proud but sometimes, such attitude has been influenced by the treatment of some tourists.

- Paris has an understandably high cost of living although when compared to UK, it is relatively cheaper. Most of the time, cost of living will depend on the one’s choice of lifestyle.
- Fast food meals will normally cost $10.50 and an inexpensive restaurant serves meals at about $18 each. Meals for two in a midrange restaurant cost $78; the meal will include three courses.
- Apartment rental costs are a bit high. Price range will normally be between $1050 and $1350 for a single-room accommodation.

- Internet cafes, nice and clean, are located at the heart of the city. Internet connection is fast enough for business-related transactions online. There are also many areas where free Internet access is provided.
Weather:
- Paris owns a maritime climate. Winters are cool while summers are warm and pleasant. January is its coldest month but snow rarely shows. Spring and fall would typically be cool and wet.
U.S. Visa/Entry Difficulty Level:
- US tourists no longer need a visa when travelling to Paris. The maximum length of stay is three months. A passport must be presented which needs to be valid 90 days beyond the planned visit.
Banking:
- Banks in Paris provide currency exchange services during the weekdays. Transactions will usually involve a commission. Alliance Françaisen, however, charges no fee at a competitive rate.
Language:
- French is the official language of the country. However, many shopkeepers and information booth attendants speak English.
Language Schools:
- Paris is an ideal place to study French. There are many language schools in the city, a lot of options for US tourists.
Food:
- The city consists of numerous beautiful restaurants that feature trendy interior design. Each of these restaurants offers creative French cuisines as well as exotic foreign cuisines. Traditional offerings are available for budget-conscious travellers. Food choices are often centered on meat and are found in sidewalk terraces.
- The best dining places to eat, where both food and services are great, are in restaurants where most locals eat. US tourists who want to try eating at trendy restaurants will usually require reservations.
Recreation:
- One of the best forms of recreation in Paris is simply by walking around this City of Light. US tourists can possibly tour around the entire city within a few hours. But probably, it will take longer than that as stopping by at cafes and shops is a possibility.
- There are always events going on in Paris.
Safety:
- Crimes in the city are the same as with other large cities although violent crimes are not common. The city center is well-guarded by police but US tourists must still apply common sense always.
