U.S. Visa/Entry Difficulty Level:
- US tourists will find it easy to get in to Singapore with no visa requirement for a maximum stay of three months. Extensions are fine with an additional fee of about $30. However, the following requirements apply: valid passport for six months, proof of sufficient funds as well as return tickets.
Language:
- Malay is the country’s national language. However, English is practically the most common means of communication.
- Mandarin Chinese and Tamil are the other official languages of the city.

- There are also popular tourist attractions waiting to be visited including Singapore Zoo, Botanical Gardens and Night Safari.
Safety:
- Singapore is a very safe place. Crimes are low but this does not mean that crime is no longer existent. Pickpockets are common in crowded areas.
Additional Reminders:
- US tourists planning to visit Singapore should remember to bring 6 things: sun glasses and sun block (for the bright and sunny weather), shorts or half pants (it can be very hot in the place), umbrella (for occasional yet sudden rains), sweater (air-conditioning in malls and museums tends to be really cold), and flip-flops – as Singaporeans are fond of wearing flip-flops, tourists may be interested to blend in.
