Sydney, Australia
- The Harbour City – Sydney consists of three-in-one title. It is Australia’s largest, oldest as well as most cosmopolitan city.
- The world recognizes Sydney as one of its most fascinating and lively cities except that spending a vacation in the city can be very expensive for US tourists.

The Life:
- Life in Sydney comprises a matchless mix of its history and nature, culture and art, fashion and design as well as its cuisine. More than these, the city combines flourishing businesses, education facilities and great leisure together.
- Its city center is full of life while its suburb areas may be more interesting with less crowded beaches, cheaper shopping, cultural festivals plus hidden treasures.
Cost of Living:
- Generally, Sydney’s living cost is pretty much expensive. It has been consistently rated on the top ten list of the highest cost of living in the world.
- A fast food meal can approximately cost $7 while a meal at an average restaurant costs $17 and can be as high as $33 to $45in other restaurants. Top-end dining places usually offer their meals from $200 – $250 per person.
- Apartment monthly rates can range from $1500 to almost $4000. Prices will normally vary based on its location, within or outside the city center.
Poker:
- Poker is almost non-existent in Sydney. Both the rake and game selection are not as good as in the US. Moreover, dealers entertain players in a manner that is influenced by their current situation – underpaid and overworked. But if this seems fine for an American poker play, then everything should be okay. Fees are relatively low and the structures are decent.
- Online poker, on the other hand, is legal in Australia. The city is very open that even the young ones play poker games.
Internet Speed:
- With a huge and modernized city like Sydney, high internet speed is definitely expected. Hotels, malls and other places offer internet connection services. The fast internet speed may also explain the numerous online poker game players in the city.
Weather:
- Sunny and moderate climate – its weather conditions have significantly contributed to both the locals and US tourists’ super relaxed lifestyle and their passion for outdoor activities.
- Summer is from December to February making it the perfect time to take pleasure on the city’s beaches. Some days during summer can be humid. Autumn, which is from March to May, is warm still – an ideal time to visit attractions, go the zoo as well as catch ferries to explore the harbor.
- Winter begins in June and ends in August. These months are cool but not really cold. US tourists who are not fond of the beach and hate the heat can fit their best trip schedule to Sydney during its winter time. From September to November (springtime) is best for recreational activities.
U.S. Visa/Entry Difficulty Level:
- Tourist visas are required and are generally easy to get. While obtaining visas to Sydney is convenient, immigration may be strict as it tries to control the number of people coming from Southeast Asian countries (due to their record of illegal working in the country).
Language:
- Eighty percent speaks English in Sydney. Other languages are also spoken – Chinese, Lebanese, Turkish, etc.
Food:
- Cafes and restaurants are plenty in Sydney, with offers of a wide range of food selection. Dining places can be from luxurious restaurants to cheap street eating areas.
Recreation:
- Anything that US tourists can think of, Sydney has it. The city always offers something for everyone. It offers such a diverse environment from beaches to rain forest and to other destinations.
- Music and festivals are also highlights in the city. In these celebrations’s absence, there are bars, clubs and restaurants to enjoy.
Safety:
- Sydney has one of the places in the world that have the lowest crime rates. However, some areas in the city is smart not to go to during the night.
