- Monthly rates for single-room apartments vary from $1000 to $1800 but three-bedroom accommodations can go as high as $4300.

Internet Access:
- Getting online in Zurich is not a problem for US tourists. It is in fact among the most Internet café-friendly towns in Europe. Internet connection speed is fast enough for office applications and games.
Weather:
- The weather conditions of Zurich are described as fairly temperate. January is its coldest month but will start getting warm when March comes.
- Summers are the best times to visit the place that allow exploring the city more enjoyable. Frequent rain showers are expected to take place during these days as well. September and October are warm and a good time to travel to the city and witness its fascinating historic attractions.
U.S. Visa/Entry Difficulty Level:
- US tourists can stay in the country for up to three months without any visa as long as the passport is valid 90 days beyond their planned trip. Return tickets should also be prepared.
Language:
- The city’s official language is German. It is the language used in publications and announcements. Everyone in Zurich speaks German but the masses speak Swiss German.
- Other languages widely spoken in the country include English and French.
Language Schools:
- Many people consider the city as one of the best places to learn German. Although there are online courses, US tourists can find language schools in Zurich which come in many courses and time schedule.
Food:
- The typical dish that the city offers is the Zürigschnätzlets which is veal dipped in cream plus wine sauce.
- The city also has delicious bread which comes in many varieties. Cheeses, hams and dried sausages are various as well.
- Specialties such as Rösti and Spätzle are recommended for US tourists. Budget-meal restaurants and food courts are all over the city offering a number of options for everyone.
Recreation:
- Club-hopping is a fun activity in Zurich. In fact, it probably has the most number of clubs in Europe. US tourists can get a copy of a local paper detailing these clubs as they start exploring these areas.
- Bike riding is great as well especially with free bikes and skates. However, the area must be checked if it is safe for biking. There are places that hold serious hazards on the road and are only for experienced bikers.
- Camping sites are numerous in this place. These sites are normally very clean but are close during winter season.
Safety:
- Zurich is relatively safe but thieves and pickpockets may be just around so it is best to beware of them.
